Code of Conduct for Parkman Pack 4076

Code of Conduct Pack 4076 Parkman, Ohio

Pack 4076 has established the following Code of Conduct to provide Scouts, Parents and Adult Leaders with a framework of expectations and disciplinary actions for all members of the Pack. This Code of Conduct will help ensure a common language and understanding for behavioral expectations, allowing us to create an atmosphere conducive to fun, safety and the values of Scouting.

Expectations:  Cub Scouts:

·Always be on time.

·Call Den Leader if not able to attend meeting/activity.

·Wear proper uniform to all Scouting events with pride-clean, neat and complete.

·Listen and pay attention.

·In response to the “signs up” signal, silently return the sign.

·Respect your leader and one another.

·Keep hands and feet to yourself.

·Do not take anything from anyone without asking first.

·Show respect for your surroundings, leaving it looking better than how you found it.

·Always follow Akela.

·Always, DO YOUR BEST!

Adult leaders:

·Treat ALL Scouts as individuals, respecting unique needs and capabilities.

·Act as a role model, demonstrating proper behavior, language, etc.

·Wear uniform to all Scouting events.

·Assume responsibility for the safety, well-being and behavior of your charges at all times.

·Follow BSA rules regarding discipline and other matters.

·Get Leader Specific training.

Parents:

·Assist your son in learning this Code of Conduct.

·Work with Leaders to ensure all boys follow this Code.

·Act as a role model, demonstrating proper behavior, language, etc.

·Pay attention, and in response to the “signs up”signal, quietly return the sign.

·Parents are responsible for their Scouts and non-scouts before, during and after meetings.

·Parents may be asked to remove disruptive children during these events.

·Cub Scouting is a program based on parent/guardian and son participation. It is the policy of Pack 4076 that a parent/family member accompanies the Scout on all Pack activities. This can be modified under extreme circumstances. Parents may also be asked to volunteer and participate in activities.

·No use of alcohol or illegal drugs while at Scout functions.

Respect:

We strive to provide our Scouts with a fun, safe and enjoyable scouting experience. Our Adult Leaders donate many hours of their free time to achieve this goal. They are volunteers. All adult leaders should be given your respect. Directions given by Adult Leaders must be obeyed for the good of all Scouts. Failure to do so may result in parental notification and possibly dismissal from that Scouting function. We want all boys to be able to participate in activities however; we want our boys to learn there are consequences for bad behavior. Members of Pack 4076 are expected to respect each other. Any behavior that injures, demeans or offends other members of the Pack is not acceptable and will not be tolerated.

Discipline:

Participation in any Scouting activity by a Scout or Adult Leader will be conducted in a manner that upholds the principals, standards and ideals of the Boy Scouts of America as set forth in the Scout Promise and Law.We recognize that in order for boys to grow into responsible men, they need to be held responsible for their actions. Therefore, any Scout who intentionally participates in an activity that has the potential to harm himself or Pack members, or behaves in a manner that reflects negatively upon Pack 4076 members or BSA, will be disciplined. Behavior that is cause for disciplinary action includes, but is not limited to the following:

·Not following Cub Master or Leader directions.

·Significantly unsafe action endangering self or others.

·Leaving designated area without leader permission.

·Cursing or foul language.

·Excessively rowdy, unruly, loud, disrespectful, disobedient or disruptive behavior.

·Physical or verbal harassment of others.

·Use of controlled or illegal substance during Scout events.

Discipline at meetings is at the discretion of the leaders in accordance with the following guidelines:

·Failure to follow rules will result in a warning followed by time out or removal from activity.

·A parent/guardian may be asked to remove Scout from activity.

·Parent/guardians are required to attend all Scout functions with their Scout unless other arrangements are made with Leaders/Cub Master.

·Leaders have the right to exclude a Scout from their Den for reasons of conduct. The situation will be reviewed by the Pack Committee and , in extreme cases and after consultation with GWRC; a Scout maybe dismissed from the Pack for reasons of misconduct.

·Den Meetings are for Scouts, Parents and Leaders. Siblings are permitted and encouraged to attend meetings without disruption of the meeting/events.

All Scouts, Parents/Guardians and Adult Leaders are participants of Pack 4076 and represent their community, family and local Scouting Council. Therefore, all Scouts, Parents/Guardians and Adult Leaders are asked to sign this Code of Conduct as a condition for participation. We want each Scout to be responsible for their own behavior and, only when necessary will the procedure be invoked to send a Scout home from their Den Meeting or Activity.
