Our small troop of scouts attend scout camp to build experience, make progress toward the rank of Eagle and to have fun. Our scouts benefit from camp as they:
- Rise early and follow a set schedule.
- Share responsibility to maintain the campsite in order pass daily inspections.
- Share meals with other scouts in the troop and occasionally with camp staff.
- Take a turn as a waiter for meals which includes setting, serving and cleaning up.
- Become responsible for finding the way to and from the merit badge classes they sign up for and manage their time.
- Attend campfires and ceremonies to learn more about scouting.
- Take responsibility and lead others.
- Make new friends.
- Strengthen existing friendships.
- Learn new skills and try something they have never tried before.
- Challenge their critical thinking skills.
- Work with others to establish and achieve goals.
- Trade modern technological distractions for social interaction, experience and learning.
